THE BEGINNING OF THE END
Wednesday, February 18, 2009
Weren’t we told by the President that the so called Stimulus Bill had to be passed immediately? We were told the time for talk was over and the time for action had come. As he flew around the country in campaign mode on Air Force One pumping greenhouse gases into the atmosphere (where’s Al Gore protesting?) President Obama laid out a doomsday scenario meant to scare the public into supporting this bloated, wasteful bill that mortgages the futures of our children and probably their children. Anyone that believed the deception spewing from his mouth probably soiled their trousers in fear. Those of us that didn’t believe him became more frustrated by the day with his blatant lies. In the end the $787 billion bill was passed through Congress and signed into law by the President.
The signing of the bill was done in Denver Colorado with plenty of fanfare at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. This site was chosen because it’s powered by solar panels installed by Namaste Solar and it was supposed to highlight the bills dedication to “green technology.”
After the signing President Obama made a statement that caught my eye;
"We have begun the essential work of keeping the American dream alive in our time," Obama said, calling the legislation "the beginning of the end" of what needed to be done to fix the economy.
You have got to be kidding me Mr. Obama! This legislation is “the beginning of the end” of what needed to be done to fix the economy. That is absurd. You campaigned for and signed a bill that spends $787 billion we don’t have because you said if we didn’t act now the economy may fall into a permanent recession and this bill was the only thing that could save us. Now that the campaigning is over and the bill is law you tell us it’s the beginning of the end. President Obama should be a used car salesmen because he is the king of the bait and switch. The beginning of the end, if this is the beginning I don’t want to see what follows.
If the President and his liberal minions truly believed in what they were doing why did they stop at just implementing the beginning of the end? Why not pass an even more massive spending bill with a price tag of $7.870 trillion dollars? Whether it’s a billion or a trillion dollars it’s all money we don’t have so why not go big, really, really big? If you go big then you can be guaranteed you will fix the economy right. Wrong and they know this. They know because history shows that borrowing money in the midst of a recession for infrastructure and other pork projects doesn’t help the economy recover any quicker, in fact it drags out the recession or depression even longer then if nothing was done at all. So why did they do it you ask. Well for one the bill is payback for all the political favors afforded the President during his campaign. Also the far left liberal Democrats running both houses were able to implement all the liberal ideas they have been wanting to put in place for years, and this was a perfect opportunity to do it without the scrutiny of the American people. Lastly if they go small and then poo poo the effects after the fact it will lower expectations for success and it will allow them to come back later when it doesn’t work and spend even more.
President Obama’s Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel said “never allow a crisis to go to waste” and this bill is a prime example of that philosophy. This is the kinda of “change” we can expect to see from this administration and in the end I think most Obama supporters are not going to get what they thought they were voting for. So the next time you hear “crisis” coming from the administration you can be certain that just like this time they are not about to let it go to waste.
You have got to be kidding me President Obama, the beginning of the end? The President amazes me on a daily basis and not in a good way.
I know I used the same graphic for the last post but it fits really good here too.
